Walk and Roll to Lander Schools
On Wednesday, October 1, students at Gannett Peak Elementary and Lander Middle
School are invited to lace up their shoes, hop on their bikes, and join in Walk & Roll to School Day.
The event encourages students to participate in organized “walking and biking trains” along designated routes. Families who don’t live on a route can drop students off at any of the meeting points. Upon arrival at school, all participants will receive free breakfast snacks and giveaways.
Gannett Peak Elementary will offer five walking train routes, while Lander Middle School students can join four bike train routes. Community volunteers and police officers will assist throughout the morning to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event.
“We’re excited to see kids start their day with energy and community spirit,” said Kara Colovich, event organizer with the Lander Climate Action Network. “This is a fun way to promote safe walking and biking routes to school while bringing families together.”
