Coal Mine Tour
Experience a Coal Mine tour in Gillette, Wyoming, where you can witness massive mining machinery and learn about the coal mining process firsthand.
Overview of the Tour
The tours typically last about 2.5 hours and include transportation from the Gillette Visitor Center to the mine site.
What to Expect
-Guided Experience: Tours are led by knowledgeable guides, often experienced coal miners, who share insights about the mining process, equipment, and the importance of coal in the energy sector.
-Spectacular Machinery: Visitors will see colossal machines at work, gaining a deeper understanding of how coal is extracted and the extensive reclamation processes that restore the land after mining.
-Educational Insights: The tour provides a comprehensive look at the coal industry, including its economic impact and environmental considerations.

Frontier Auto Museum
One of the most popular and fun things to do in Gillette, Wyoming, is the Frontier Relics & Auto Museum, a blast from the past that the whole family will enjoy.
A nod to vintage cars and the fuel that kept them moving, this retro daydream has so much more than just automobiles! Old movies and commercials are playing on a giant drive-in screen, a pharmacy and soda fountain are on-site for snacking, and old gas pumps and antique signage make for so much to see.
Inside, you'll find room after room, floor to ceiling, of fascinating examples of a time that once was. Classic cars, neon signs, porcelain signs, gas pumps, oil & gas memorabilia. All in remarkable condition.
