The purpose of this meeting is to begin the Committee's interim work. The Committee will receive agency updates regarding their programs and budgets. The Wyoming Department of Health, Department of Family Services, Department of Workforce Services, and the Wyoming Department of Insurance will be providing information and background to the Committee. The Committee will learn about the findings from the Governor's taskforce work on maternal health and emergency medical services. The Committee will also consider the use of artificial intelligence in prior authorization within the healthcare industry. Toxicology reports will be discussed with the Department of Health's vital statistics and the Coroner's Association and the effects of prescription drugs on the mental state of people in circumstances surrounding events like murder and suicide. The Committee will wrap up their first meeting with a discussion regarding naturopathic licensure.
The meeting will be held in person in Casper and remotely with a live video stream available on the Legislature's Website (www.wyoleg.gov). A limited number of participants can sign up to provide public comment virtually for a specified agenda item during the Committee's upcoming meeting. The total amount of time dedicated to virtual public comment is set by the Committee Chairmen per Management Council Policy. Please fill out the public comment form to ensure the Committee knows you intend to provide public comment virtually. Only those who fill out the form to provide public comments virtually and who are e-mailed the Zoom invite from the Legislative Service Office will be permitted into the Zoom meeting to testify.
