Lander Welcomes Fourth of July Visitors; Fireworks Allowed Within City Limits
Lander's Fourth of July weekend is packed with activities, from the 132nd Pioneer Days Rodeo
and Parade to races, reunions, live music, shopping, and family gatherings.

Visitors and residents are reminded that while Fremont County is currently under a fireworks
ban, fireworks are permitted within Lander City limits between 10 AM and midnight on July 4 on
private property with owner’s permission. Fireworks are not allowed at the following locations:
-Main Street
-One block north and south of Main Street during the parade
-City-owned properties, including the rodeo grounds, airport parking lot, all City parks, Lander
Golf Course, parking lots that serve public buildings, and Mount Hope Cemetery
-East of the Fremont County Detention Center between Amoretti Street and Poor Farm Road
-School district properties and parking lots
Please help keep our community beautiful by cleaning up fireworks debris after use.

Open containers are also permitted within City limits from 9 AM to 11:59 PM in accordance with
Resolution 1390. Please drink responsibly and celebrate safely.

The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum, hosted by Wyoming Catholic College, will make a stop in
Lander July 1-3. The traveling exhibit commemorates America's upcoming 250th anniversary
through interactive displays exploring the nation's founding and history. The free exhibit will be
located in the Orchard Building/BMO Bank parking lot at the corner of 3rd Street and Garfield
Street and will be open July 1 from 12 PM to 5 PM, July 2 from 10 AM to 5 PM, and July 3 from
10 AM to 5 PM.

The excitement continues July 3 and 4 with the 132nd Pioneer Days Rodeo. Gates open at 6:30
PM, and the Grand Entry begins at 7 PM each evening. Indian relay races will also be featured
nightly. Tickets are available through the Lander Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation
Department, First Interstate Bank, Ace Hardware, at the rodeo grounds, or online at
www.lotra.org.

On Independence Day, a full day of events begins with the 45th Annual Challenge for Charities
Half Marathon, 5K, and 1-Mile Run
. Registration closes July 1. Donations to Challenge for
Charities will be accepted through July 10. More information is available at
www.landercommunityfoundation.org. The community is also invited to a pancake breakfast in
Centennial Park from 7-10 AM, served by Kiwanis. Adults $7, kids $3.

At 10 AM, spectators can line Main Street for the 132nd Pioneer Days Parade, one of Lander's
most beloved traditions. Those interested in participating can register their float through the
Lander Chamber of Commerce or online at https://secure.rec1.com/WY/lander-wy/catalog.
Following the parade, community members are invited to Lander City Park for the annual Rotary
July 4th BBQ. Enjoy buffalo burgers, brats, hot dogs, and hamburgers while supporting local
Rotary projects. Tickets are available from the Lander Chamber of Commerce, Mr. D's, Lander
Rotarians, or at the event.

The holiday concludes with Lander's annual Independence Day Fireworks Show at 10 PM,
hosted by the Independence Day Fireworks Committee. Viewing will be available from the
Department of Environmental Quality parking lot at the Wyoming Life Resource Center.
Pedestrians and chairs are allowed on the trail between DEQ and Luckey Pond. Donations are
appreciated and can be made at the event or online at lander.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/list. While
the fireworks show is hosted as part of Lander's Independence Day celebration, the launch site
is located outside City limits and remains subject to approval by the Fremont County
Commissioners at their June 29 meeting due to the county fire ban.

More Than Just the Fourth
In addition to the scheduled community events, Lander will welcome numerous class reunions,
family reunions, and visitors returning home for the holiday weekend. Throughout town,
businesses will host live music, special events, and entertainment throughout the holiday
weekend.

The celebration doesn't end when the fireworks do. Many downtown merchants will be open on
July 5, providing another opportunity to shop, dine, and explore Lander. Visitors are encouraged
to support local businesses and discover the unique shops, restaurants, galleries, and
attractions that make Lander a welcoming destination.
