Respiratory Therapist

Provides critical cardiopulmonary care across all age groups, preforming patient assessments, administering respiratory treatments, and manager ventilators, and non-invasive airway support. Responsibilities include assisting with both invasive and no-invasive procedures, conducting diagnostic tests like pulmonary function studies, EKGs, stress tests, and arterial blood gas analysis, and monitoring response to therapy. Additionally, therapists set up and maintain respiratory equipment, preform suctions, document treatments accurately in the electronic medical record, and provide patient and family education on respiratory care. They also ensure compliance with departmental protocols and hospital policies and collaborate with physician sin the delivery of safe, high-quality respiratory services.
 
Qualifications
Certification:

  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • ACLS current certification
  • PALS current certification or within 90 days of hire 
  • NRP current or within 90 days of hire
Licenses
  •  Respiratory Therapist - Certified Respiratory Care Therapist OR  Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • .May be either a Certified Technician or a Registered Therapist
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred
Experience: 
  • Minimum 2+ years Critical Care experience preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in a Respiratory Department preferred
