Membership Sales Coordinator

The Lander Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Membership Sales Coordinator. The ideal candidate should be able to answer “Yes!” to the following questions:
 

  • Do you have a gift for getting people to like you?

  • Are you effective at using the phone in the sales process to reach revenue goals?

Our Organization

The Lander Chamber of Commerce is a business association comprised of approximately 300 businesses, organizations, and individuals in Lander and Fremont County, Wyoming seeking to promote and support business development by enhancing the area’s economy and quality of life. We do this primarily in four ways:
 
 

  1. Promoting our community and the businesses within it
  2. Strengthening the local and regional economy
  3. Hosting events that provide connecting and learning opportunities
  4. Representing the interests of the business community before government   

The Position

 

Reporting directly to and working under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Membership Sales Coordinator’s primary duty is selling Chamber membership packages to prospective non-member businesses and organizations and upgrading current members to higher investment tiers by providing information on the various benefits and programs offered through the Chamber. Essential requirements of the position include: 
 

  • Scheduling appointments and making personal visits with prospective members
  • Closing sales through onsite visits and phone calls
  • Actively seeking out new businesses and following up appropriately
  • Maintaining knowledge of Chamber vision, mission, goals, and objectives
  • Remaining informed of Chamber membership benefits, programs, events, etc.
  • Actively participating in Chamber events (e.g., Lander Brewfest, luncheons, etc.)
  • Assisting Chamber members in taking full advantage of their membership benefits
  • Assuming other duties as assigned by the CEO

Qualifications 
 

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in direct, person-to-person sales 
  2. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  3. Strong computer skills; facility with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office   

Compensation

 

The compensation range for this part time position (30 hours per week) is $18.00-$22.00 per hour (based on experience) plus a 20% bonus per member upgrade or new member sale. A 90-day probationary period is required, the successful completion of which will result in permanent employment. There are no benefits associated with this position. However, industry-specific professional development and continuing education may be provided at no cost.
