Director of Laboratory Services

Provides comprehensive leadership for the laboratory department, overseeing all operations, staffing, and compliance actives. This includes ensuring the lab adheres to federal, state and local regulations as well as internal policies, while actively managing quality control, proficient testing, and inventory systems. They also maintain technical proficiency across lab areas, perform and verify testing through the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and handle troubleshooting preventative instrument maintenance and data entry. In collaboration with lead technologists, the Director managers staffing-conducting interviews, schedules, orientation, and training- and oversees documentation, reporting department billing, and policy reviews. They ensure accurate patient identification and prioritize critical or stat specimens, communicate critical results account to protocol, and foster a safe, culturally competent work environment across all age groups.
 
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree required in Laboratory Science or related field
3 years' supervisory experience
3 years' experience at Medical Technologist
Registry required by AMT, ASCP, HEW, HHS, or NCA"
Required Skills
Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
