POSITION: Special Education Teacher (Extended Resource)
LOCATION: Lander Valley High School
SALARY: $52,200 starting base salary (based on the 2025-2026 salary schedule - set to increase for the 2026-2027 school year); full benefits
CONTRACT: Full-time, 185-day contract with full benefits
START DATE: August 17, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Wyoming teaching certificate with a special education endorsement. Other desired qualifications include: Successful experience working with high school students; ability and willingness to coach or advise extracurricular activities; ability to differentiate, accommodate, and modify instruction to meet the wide variety of student abilities and needs; ability and desire to work in a standards-based grading system; ability to work as part of a Professional Learning Community in a collaborative department team; ability to implement RTI and PBIS concepts; strong classroom management skills; ability to be able to work with all grade-levels 9-12; commitment to teach to the established standards and benchmarks to ensure student achievement; good communication skills; willingness to assist the school by serving on school and district committees; willingness to be a team player; desire to continue to grow professionally to better be able to educate our students: ability to supervise paraprofessionals; experience with Special Forces IEP management software and Infinite Campus.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This extended resource teacher will work with students with special needs in the regular education setting and study skills classrooms. Unlike an inclusion resource teacher, this teacher may have some students who are not on a graduation track and some who are. Teacher must be able to work with students to achieve both grade level and age level goals. This teacher will be required to accommodate and modify classroom assignments, create modifications, team teach, write IEPs, attend IEP meetings, and work with regular education staff to help differentiate instruction for IEP students in the regular education setting.
