Lander Senior Citizens Center, Inc. exists to assist older citizens in remaining independent and
enjoying a healthier lifestyle and social interactions. Funded largely through stable government
grants, tax revenue, and public allocations, we pride ourselves on exceptional service delivery
and strict operational compliance. As our long-time leader transitions into retirement, we seek
a strategic administrator to guide our next phase of service and sustainability.
Position Summary
The Executive Director serves as the chief administrator, overseeing all operational, financial,
and programmatic functions. Candidates should bring deep experience in government contract
management, public agency compliance, and team leadership. You will manage a dedicated
11-person staff and act as the primary liaison to our Board, public funders, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial and Compliance Management: Oversee the $1.2M operating budget. Ensure
absolute compliance with local, state, and federal grant requirements, unnegotiable
deliverables, and public audit standards. - Staff Leadership and Culture: Supervise, mentor, and retain a high-performing 11-person team.
- Public and Donor Relations: Maintain and strengthen trust with public agencies, elected officials,
contract managers, and voters. Gradually develop strategies to diversify revenue through private
donations or foundation grants. - Board Governance: Partner with the Board of Directors to execute the strategic plan, providing
transparent financial reporting and operational updates.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of nonprofit or public sector management experience, ideally at the
Director or Associate Director level. - Proven track record of managing a $1M+ budget funded by government contracts, tax
revenues, or public allocations. - Demonstrated experience navigating audits, municipal reviews, or strict public reporting compliance.
- Strong people-management skills with experience leading teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for public advocacy and reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 (Commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Wyoming retirement match, competitive PTO.
