Community Invited to Honor Local Heroes Through Annual Flags for Heroes Fundraiser
The Meridian Trust North Star Foundation invites the community to take part
in its annual Flags for Heroes fundraiser, a meaningful tribute honoring the people who make a
difference in our lives and communities.
For $20, community members can sponsor a flag in honor of a hero, including military members,
veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, pastors, mentors, volunteers, friends,
family members, and others who deserve recognition. Each sponsored flag includes a personalized
keepsake tag featuring the hero’s name and story. This year’s tag was designed by Colorado artist
Kendra Hart.
Flags will be displayed at Meridian Trust branches from September 2 - 12,
creating a powerful visual tribute to the heroes who strengthen our communities every day. Tags are
available for purchase on the North Star Foundation’s website at www.northstarfoundation.com or
at any local Meridian Trust branch.
The fundraiser will kick off with a community celebration hosted in partnership with the Cheyenne
Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, September 3, at 4:00 p.m. at Meridian Trust’s East Branch in
Cheyenne on East Lincolnway. Community members, sponsors, and supporters are invited to
attend as the Foundation officially honors the heroes represented throughout the display.
“Flags for Heroes is a special way for our community to pause and recognize the people who
inspire, serve, and support us every day,” said Adele Gardner, President of the Meridian Trust North
Star Foundation. “Each flag represents a personal story of gratitude, and the funds raised help us
continue supporting local families and youth through meaningful programs across the
communities we serve.”
Proceeds from Flags for Heroes support the North Star Foundation’s community assistance
programs, including the HEAT (Heat Energy Assistance Trust) program, which helps local families
with heating expenses, as well as youth initiatives including the annual college scholarship
program.
Businesses can also support the fundraiser through sponsorship opportunities starting at $250.
Sponsorships include recognition opportunities and hero tags to honor individuals who have made
a difference, while helping expand the Foundation’s impact across the communities it serves.
After the display concludes, keepsake tags will be mailed to donors or made available for pickup at
their selected Meridian Trust branch location.
