Mosquito Spraying Program Begins July 1 in Lander
The City of Lander will begin its annual mosquito control program on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Spraying will take place weekly on Wednesday evenings at dusk.
The City of Lander Weed & Pest Department will initially focus mosquito control efforts around
the perimeter of the City. Additional areas within the City may be treated based on mosquito
surveillance and testing results.
If weather conditions, such as high winds or storms, or mechanical issues prevent spraying,
operations will be rescheduled for the following evening. Residents should note that the City's
fogging equipment is very quiet and may not be as noticeable as in previous years.
No-Spray Requests
Residents who wish to opt out of mosquito spraying may submit a No-Spray Request form.
Forms are available on the City of Lander website at www.landerwy.gov/weed-pest or at City
Hall, 240 Lincoln Street. Completed forms should be returned to City Hall.
No-Spray requests will be honored unless Fremont County determines that West Nile virus or
another mosquito-borne disease presents a significant public health risk. Requests are valid
only for the current calendar year and must be renewed annually.
