Meena is an experienced scientist in translational research and has worked in several labs including academia and research institutes in the Washington DC metro area. She is the Program Director for the NCATS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) grant and contract programs. In this role, Meena oversees the NCATS SBIR/STTR program, manages a portfolio of SBIR -STTR grants, is involved in SBIR outreach activities and serves as the NCATS primary point of contact for the Small Business Programs Management Committee.

Before joining NCATS, Meena was a scientist at the NIH and carried out translational proteomics research in partnership with investigators at Tulane University. Meena was a Principal Investigator on an NIH SBIR grant application while at Georgetown University, where she also coordinated various metabolomics research projects at the Metabolomics facility at the Lombardi Cancer Center.
