As the summer progresses, Sinks Canyon State Park is offering more programs and events for both visitors and locals to enjoy. All events are free! For more info, contact the park at 307-332-6333.
Thursday, August 2nd- "Flying Squirrels of Sinks Canyon." This is a program presented by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department that will explore the research of a newly recognized species, flying squirrels, here in our local state park. The program will be held at the Sinks Canyon Visitor Center at 7 pm.
Friday, August 3rd- "Photo Contest Grand Opening." For the first time, Sinks Canyon will be hosting an open house to view the photos from the Sinks Canyon Photo Contest. Photos will be on display, and refreshments will be served. Stop by the Sinks Canyon Visitor Center between 6 and 8 pm.
Haven't submitted photos yet? Rules are available at the park and photos are due August 1st.
Saturday, August 11- "Kids Xtreme Caving Event." Staff members will be taking groups of kids into the Boulder Choke cave for an exciting and educational experience! The event is free, but please pre-register for a time slot. Please call 307-777-2416 (our state office) to register. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.
Monday, September 3rd- "Bam Bam the Ram Raffle." Raffle tickets for a beautiful framed picture of "Bam Bam" the bighorn sheep are currently being sold at the Sinks Canyon Visitor Center. The drawing for the picture will be held at 4 pm. To view the picture and purchase tickets, visit the Sinks Canyon Visitor Center, open daily from 9 am-6 pm. Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. All proceeds go to new displays in the Visitor Center. Need not be present to win.
