String quartet "Beyond the Chamber" to perform

Beyond the Chamber, a string quartet from Denver, will be in residence in Lander November 1-3. Brought here by Promoting Arts in Lander Schools (PALS), the Lander Community Concerts Association, and the Lander strings community, the string quartet will be conducting a number of activities in the schools and for the public.

On Thursday, Nov 3 at 7 pm, also at Trinity Episcopal Church (860 3^rd Street), the quartet will perform a concert for the public, featuring works by Mendelssohn, Smetana, and Mozart. The concert is free but a donation of $10 or more is encouraged. On Wednesday, Nov 2, from 3-5 pm, the quartet will conduct a master class for students from the Wyoming Suzuki String School at Trinity Episcopal Church that is open to the public and a $10 donation is suggested.

A recipient of the prestigious Canada Council for the Arts Grant for Professional Musicians, violinist Jessica Tong has garnered international acclaim as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. As a performer, violist Laura Seay has been characterized as ‘a burst of unbound energy’ (The East Hampton Star), and her enthusiasm for classical music continues to attract audiences across the globe. Violinist Michelle Abraham is a member of the Vera String Quartet in Cleveland, coached in the prestigious Intensive String Quartet Seminar at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and performed in master classes with Donald Weilerstein and the Jupiter Quartet.
Nova Scotia native cellist Denise Ro has recently finished her graduate studies at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Timothy Eddy. Her mentors have included Olive Shaw, Shimon Walt, Richard Aaron, Hans Jorgen Jensen, Andre Emelianoff, and Timothy Eddy.
