“PiPi On My Passport, Transported By Art” actually started nearly three years ago. Amanda and I were discussing our repeat travels to both Cuba and Guadeloupe. Both of us make art while traveling and were interested in having an exhibition that captured our experiences in the Caribbean. We had even thought to trade islands and depict each other's scenes as an exciting addition to our show. Unfortunately, the Cuban borders were closed to Americans by our president at the time. Less than a year later, COVID paralyzed our world. There would be no physical travel... We had to employ sanity saving practices during this pandemic, and travel using our minds. We know you understand! We’re in this together, we have suffered together! “PiPi On My Passport” became a tongue-in-cheek title developed over months of preparation and not knowing if we’d actually ever have an audience! Your presence here today is a celebration in itself. Thank you for visiting our show; and cheers to a step closer to using our passports again!
