PUBLIC INVITED TO HELP DEVELOP PLANS
FOR THE WIND RIVER CANYON SCENIC BYWAY
The Eastern Shoshone & Northern Arapaho Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a public meeting and workshop regarding the Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan (CMP). The Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway is Highway 20, between Shoshoni and Thermopolis, through the Wind River Indian Reservation.
The CMP is a grassroots-level participation project, with support from the tribes and the Federal Highways Administration, in which local desires and issues are documented to serve as a general planning guide for state-designated scenic byways. In addition to addressing issues with the roadway itself, the CMP will also document community goals and develop plans for enhancing and preserving the scenic, natural, historic, cultural, archaeological and recreational qualities of the corridor.
Three public meetings/workshops are scheduled to obtain input from residents, businesses, officials and other interested persons:
