Mendicants to perform a free concert in Lander

Mendicants to Perform in Lander
Stanford University's all male a cappella group, The Mendicants, will be performing a FREE public concert on Thursday, March 29 at 7 pm at Lander Valley High School. The Mendicants will be in Lander for 4 days, Tuesday – Friday, conducting workshops with choirs in grades 7-12.
The 13-member group, known for "heaping spoonfuls of boyish charm" (Stanford Daily, 2002),  covers a wide range of styles including gospel, pop, barbershop, original compositions and jazz standards. Their extensive repertoire includes "Brown Eyed Girl," "Satin Doll," "Sunday Morning", “Delia”, “Jessie’s Girl” and more.
The group’s president, Max Del Real, is an LVHS alumnus who graduated in 2008. Max’s love of singing was encouraged by Dennis Cone, an inspiring mentor and choir director at the high school at the time.  Max is just one of many former students who greatly appreciate Dennis Cone’s influence and encouragement.

The group is being brought to Lander through a joint effort between Deirdre Rainer and Promoting Arts in Lander Schools (PALS).
