Lander's National Theater presents "The Magistrate"

Lander’s National Theater season presents Pinero’s “The Magistrate”, Live in HD.

John Lithgow, staring as Aeneas Posket, Mulberry Street’s Police Court Magistrate, is an upstanding pillar of Victorian society. But with the late night drinking and gambling of his nineteen year old stepson, that pillar is about to crumble. The shackles of Victorian restraint and decorum give way to abandonment and lunacy.

Best known for his farces, Pinero had an unerring eye for the absurdity of the human condition. The enduring popularity of his work is testament to this insight and to his brilliant stagecraft.
