“Kids Corner: Make Spooky Halloween Characters” Friday October 24 and Saturday, October 25, 10:00 a.m.
Are you looking forward to Halloween, but STUMPED on how to decorate? A simple, easy-to- make Halloween handmade craft for all ages. Spooky and whimsical craft for all skill levels. Join Jan at the Dubois Museum and paint your favorite Halloween characters on logs.
Halloween decorations evolved from ancient Celtic practices of using carved turnips to ward off evil spirits during the Samhain festival. This practice transitioned into using pumpkins in the U.S. Later in the twentieth century began to include a variety of commercial products produced by companies like Beistle and Dennison (yes, the same Dennisons from Dubois).
This is one of the Bailey Tire & Pit Stop Travel Center Children’s Exploration Series. Materials will be provided. Bring clothes to paint in. $3.00 per person. Please call the Dubois Museum at 307-455-2284 to RSVP
