Fremont County Orchestra members and supporters will present a musical celebration of solos and ensembles to benefit the orchestra on Sunday, January 22.The 3 p.m. concert will be at Lander’s Trinity Episcopal Church, 860 South Third Street.
The concert will feature ensemble instrumental music, mostly from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Musicians will perform selections for strings and wind instruments by Grieg, Corelli, Elgar and others.
For the first time, the benefit concert includes a silent auction. The top bidder, or his or her designate, will conduct the Fremont County Orchestra for one musical selection at the upcoming March Spring Concert.
Organizers said they would provide hors d’oeuvres during a post-performance reception.
Although the event is free, orchestra members will solicit donations to help fund orchestra expenses, such as music and other associated costs.
The Fremont County Orchestra’s 25th season also features a March 24 Spring Concert at the Lander Valley High School Auditorium. Conductor Rebecca Murdock said that concert will include several dance titles from orchestra literature.
