The Eastern Shoshone Treaty Day Pageant is Saturday, July 28, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. with an evening social dancing. It will be held at the Fort Washakie-Historic District, Wyoming-Powwow Arbor. This event commenorates the Treaty with the Shoshone and Bannocks on July 3, 1868, "articles of a Treaty with the Shoshone (Eastern Band) and Bannock Tribe of Indians, made the third Day of July, 1868, at Fort Bridger," Andrew Johnson, President of the United States of America
Schedule is:
8 a.m. set up for teepees for pageant and other equipment. Set up time for Native American arts and crafts and food vendors; BYO chairs and tables. $10 fee for arts and crafts, $25 fee for food vendor. Must set up outside of the Arbor. Vendors, please pay at set up time before 8:30 a.m., no refunds.
9 a.m. Introduction and invocation (Tribal Elder)
10 a.m. Commemoration ceremony and pageant
Noon: Feast
1-3 p.m. Eastern Shoshone social dancing (round dancing) on into the night until 10 p.m. Singers and drums welcome
