The Drum Brothers, a four-member percussion group, will conduct workshops for sixth graders in the music room at Lander Middle School from noon-12:45 and another from 12:50 to 1:35 p.m. on Monday, January 14.
The group will also be conducting a workshop for members of the public from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 14 at Lander Valley High School. They invite participants to “come experience the power and joy of West African drumming”. Cost is $18, payable at the door. Extra drums will be available, or bring your own.
The Drum Brothers will also present a public concert through the Lander Community Concerts Association at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15 at LVHS. The group is known for high energy performances that feature mixture of world sounds and feature West African djembe and doun-doun drums, Australian didgeridoo, saxophone, flute, guitar, hand percussion and vocals.
