3rd annual Walk-a-Thon and 5K dog dash

The Lander Pet Connection will be hosting its third annual Walk-A-Thon and 5K Dog Dash on Saturday, September 15, 2012. The Walk-A-Thon will take place at the Lander High School Track and the 5K will start at the high school as well. This is the second biggest fundraising event for the Lander Pet Connection and we strive to make it a family friendly event. We are introducing a different route for the 5K course this year and we welcome both runners and walkers of all levels to participate; the 5K will begin at 8:45 a.m.


5K Race Information:
$25 registration fee for both walkers and runners. All registrations turned in by the end of day on September 10 will be guaranteed a T-shirt on race day. All others will receive theirs at a later date.

Registration forms can be picked up at Elemental Training Center and Gannett Peak Sports or downloaded from www.landerpets.org. Please mail completed forms and payment to LPC, PO Box 854, Lander. After September 7, please bring your registration on race day.

There will also be an option to bring your four-legged friend for an additional $5. Please only bring dogs that are friendly and leashed.

Walk-A-Thon Information:
The children’s Walk-A-Thon participants will register at the event Saturday morning beginning at 8:00 am. There is a $10 entry fee to walk. Sponsorship forms will be provided in advance through the Lander elementary schools for those who want to go out and get sponsors. If your child raises $20, they will receive a t-shirt and for each additional $20 raised they will be given a raffle ticket for prizes. If your elementary aged child is not enrolled in one of the three public elementary schools, forms will be available on our website.

Prizes will go to the top 5 fundraisers. Additional prizes will be drawn randomly from the raffle tickets and also awarded to the student completing the most laps in each grade.

Start Times:
Walk-A-Thon at 8:30am
5K Run/Walk at 8:45am

The walk-a-thon begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 9:30 a.m. Parents – please be there to pick up your child promptly at 9:30. (If you are participating in the 5K Dog Dash, we will remain with your child until you complete your circuit).

**Even though this is an event to benefit animals, we ask that all pets not participating in the 5K are left at home please!
