Job Title: Programs and Community Engagement Coordinator

Location: Lander, Wyoming (countywide position)
Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Salary: $45,000–$50,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits

destination stewardship? Do you enjoy managing projects, building relationships and helping bring programs
from concept to completion? If so, the Wind River Visitors Council may have the perfect opportunity for you.
The Wind River Visitors Council has created a new position to support tourism development initiatives, grant
programs, community partnerships and strategic projects that enhance the visitor experience and strengthen
communities throughout Wind River Country.

Summary
The Wind River Visitors Council (WRVC) is the official destination marketing organization for Wind River
Country, encompassing Fremont County and the Wind River Indian Reservation. Established in 1989 and funded
through the local lodging tax, WRVC works to increase awareness of the region’s unique destinations, outdoor
recreation opportunities, events and cultural experiences while supporting destination stewardship, community
partnerships and tourism asset development.
The Programs and Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s
programs, projects and strategic initiatives. This position provides administrative and programmatic support for
tourism development efforts, grant programs, accreditation initiatives, community partnerships, research projects
and visitor information resources. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, collaborative and committed to
helping strengthen tourism and community engagement throughout Wind River Country.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Administration
• Support administration of the Tourism Asset Development (TAD) program, including documentation review and
reimbursement tracking.
• Assist with administration and marketing of grant-funded events, projects and programs, including maintaining
records and coordinating required documentation.
Research and Reporting
• Assist with tourism research, data collection and reporting.
• Support destination stewardship and tourism development initiatives through research and project coordination.
Accreditation and Organizational Support
• Assist with documentation related to Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) accreditation.
• Support preparation of materials for board meetings and committee meetings as needed.
Community Engagement
• Serve as an ambassador for the Wind River Visitors Council and Wind River Country.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, local businesses, nonprofit organizations and
government entities.
• Attend community meetings, events and partner gatherings as needed.
• Support tourism-related events, outreach activities and community engagement initiatives throughout Wind
River Country.

Visitor Information and Publications
• Assist with updates, content collection and project coordination for the annual Visitor Guide and other
visitor-facing publications.
• Manage and maintain the WRVC event calendar.
• Help ensure visitor information resources remain accurate, current and relevant.
• Assist with the distribution and promotion of visitor information materials.

General Responsibilities
• Perform administrative duties as needed to support organizational operations.
• Participate in occasional countywide travel and periodic evening or weekend events.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be passionate about Wind River Country and the communities, cultures, landscapes and
experiences that make the region unique. They will be an ambassador for the Wind River Visitors Council’s
mission and values and possess the following qualifications:
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with community partners, stakeholders and
team members.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with grant administration, program coordination, community development, tourism, nonprofit
organizations or local government is preferred.
• Experience working with community partners, boards, committees or volunteer organizations is preferred.
• Experience in customer service, visitor services or stakeholder relations is a plus.
• Familiarity with tourism promotion, destination marketing, community engagement or economic development is
beneficial.
• Experience with publication coordination, content management or project tracking is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, tourism, public administration, nonprofit management or a
related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Wind River Country on an occasional basis.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $45,000–$50,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
