POSITION: Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Sponsor
LOCATION: Lander Valley High School
SALARY: $52,200 minimum (based on 2025-26 salary schedule); full benefits, extra-duty stipend for FFA sponsor: $11,286
CONTRACT: 185 day contract
START DATE: August 18, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold a Wyoming teaching certificate with an endorsement in AGR 6-12. Desired qualifications include: Past successful high school teaching experience in Ag projects and welding; ability to provide an effective program to educate students about career pathways in agriculture that can be used as a guide to achieving necessary skills for continued education and employment which includes preparing materials, ability to ensure that students learn safety procedures and students are safe; good organizational skills. Other desired qualifications include: Successful experience working with high school students; ability and willingness to coach or advise extracurricular activities; ability to differentiate instruction to meet the wide variety of student abilities and needs; ability and desire to work in a standards-based grading system; ability to work as part of a Professional Learning Community in a collaborative department team; ability to implement RTI and PBIS concepts; strong classroom management skills; ability to be able to work with all grade-levels 9-12; commitment to teach to the established standards and benchmarks to ensure student achievement; good communication skills; willingness to assist the school by serving on school and district committees; willingness to be a team player; and the desire to continue to grow professionally to better be able to educate our students.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Agriculture Education Teacher is responsible for education of agriculture with an emphasis on Ag Mechanics and Animal Science for students. Successful applicant will have knowledge of career development events, and supervised Ag experiences. Experience in welding and Ag projects required. In addition, candidate must be willing to sponsor an active FFA chapter and will supervise summer FFA projects and events. Extra duty contracts will be awarded for these activities.
