Did you know that 70% of people with dementia live in their homes and are active in their communities? Stores, restaurants, and other businesses can be places of safety, compassion, and support for people who have this progressive disease. We will discuss:
- Ways to identify if someone is having an issue related to Alzheimer's or dementia
- Tactics to address concerns in a supportive manner
- Ways employers can support employees who are providing care for a loved one
- How to support employees who may be displaying some concerning behaviors.
The Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is four full-time staff and many wonderful volunteers serving the 10,000 Wyomingites living with Alzheimer's and other dementias, along with their 16,000 caregivers and the general public. Together, we present community education programs; offer support groups for caregivers; provide individual care consultations; and advocate on the state and federal levels for our constituents. We also raise the funds needed to support national and international research and fuel our Wyoming mission.
