Lander ice skating rink set to open

Lander Skating Rink is scheduled to open on Friday, Dec. 22. Skating rink hours during Christmas break will be 10am-5pm and 7-10pm Monday-Saturday and noon-5pm and 7-10pm Sundays. The rink will be closed on Christmas Eve from 7-10pm and all day Christmas Day. Admission is $1.50, skate rental is $2.50 and skate sharpening is $4.

Starting January 3 hours will change to Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday and Sunday noon-5pm. Evening hours will be Wednesday 7-9pm and Friday and Saturday 7-10pm

Cynthia Newman will teach skating lessons on December 22 and 26 from 9-10am. Cost is $10 per lesson. More lessons will be offered after Christmas break. If interested, call Parks and Rec office, 332-4647, to get your name on the list.

Drop in ice hockey for high school age and up will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 5:30-7pm as soon as the rink opens. Cost is the price of admission.

Youth Ice Hockey for ages 5-12 will begin after Christmas break on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm. An approved hockey helmet with a face guard is required and can be checked out from the Parks and Rec office for a nominal fee. The price for each session is the price of admission.
