Promote Your Fremont County Business for 2017 Eclipse Now—Create a Package or Event to Pre-Sell.
Lander, WY – On August 21, 2017, Fremont County, Wyoming, should have some of the most visible and photogenic sightings of the “Great American Eclipse.” The sun will be eclipsed by our moon creating a path of totality (meaning total darkness) so it will suddenly become midnight-dark in the middle of the day for several minutes!
The Wind River Visitors Council and the Wyoming Office of Tourism are looking for Eclipse Packages, Events and Deals to pre-sell starting in January, 2016, to national and international tour operators. These include the 2016 American Bus Association events, National Tour Association, Receptive Tour Operator Tradeshow, Go West Summit International Trade Show, IPW (International Trade Show), ITB (International Tradeshow held in Germany), United Kingdom Sales Mission, Travel Alliance Partner Summit (Domestic Tradeshow), Rocky Mountain International RoundUp and any other trade events they attend.
Make sure your business or organization is able to take advantage of this rare earthly phenomena, and create a unique Eclipse Experience, Package or Deal now to pre-sell.
Eclipse experts tell us that if our Fremont County communities prepare, they can expect to generate significant tourism traffic over several days from curious travelers from around the world who will choose our unique location as their prime viewing choice. The hundreds, or thousands, of eclipse viewers that could show up all over Fremont County beginning Friday, August 18, 2017, will look for interesting events to attend during the time they are here. Ultimately they’ll be seeking a great viewing location for the big show on the morning of Monday, Aug. 21. Many may choose to stay afterwards, too. The Wind River Visitors Council, the Wyoming Office of Tourism, and other WY communities like Casper and Jackson Hole have already started to promote this astronomical event for these 2017 eclipse travelers and the early response is exciting!
We need information about your Eclipse Experience, Event, Package or Deal by Friday, November 20, 2015, so we can get it to Wyoming Office of Tourism in time for their travel trade shows in early 2016.
Once you’ve created your special eclipse package deal, put it on your own website and the WY Office of Tourism website. The Wind River Visitors Council will post it on the windriver.org website as well.
Eclipse followers who come to Fremont County for this phenomena will be looking for lodging, meals, educational and cultural programs, and souvenirs to help them enjoy and remember the event. These travelers will want to know scenic places to witness the eclipse and take photographs (using special camera lens filters made for eclipse photography). Visitors will expect to buy specially approved eyewear for safely viewing the eclipse, as well as eclipse mementos. Just google the 2017 Great American Eclipse to learn of all the cool items being produced now to commemorate the historic event. We have heard that eclipse product producers expect to fall short of demand and are producing around the clock, so take advantage of early discount deals offered now before their supply runs out.
As local business owners and organizations in this lucky path, you can offer lodging packages, eclipse programs, organized tours to a prime viewing location, and other entertainment that will convince travelers that Wind River Country truly is the best place to witness “midnight at noon.” Your eclipse package deals can offer you exceptional opportunities. Read more about this cosmic wonder! Send us your package deals by Nov. 20, 2015, for maximum exposure even though we’ll continue to accept them right up until the eclipse. We will confirm that we receive what you send us via email.
Feeling excited – but a little stuck? Not a problem. Just contact the Wind River Visitors Council to bounce your thoughts off us. We have lots of samples and resources that can help get you started.
