Atlantic City Historical Society Storytellers
Join the Atlantic City Historical Society for a discussion of the tiny mountain town’s 150th anniversary.
Session will take place at the Central Wyoming College Intertribal Education and Community Center Room 116 in Riverton on March 22, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Born out of an 1868 gold rush, the town survives almost in spite of itself at 7,655’ on the southeastern heel of the mighty Wind River Range. About 30 hardy souls live in the town year-round. Scores of others enjoy weekend and summer cabins. Hunters, fishers, and most other types of outdoor folks flock here, too.
The society published its 280-page sesquicentennial book about Atlantic City in November 2018. The discussions will include images from the book and will cover some of the history, cultural and commercial aspects of the place and bits of personal stories as told by the book’s many storytellers.
