POSITION: Special Education/Art Paraprofessional
LOCATION: Gannett Peak Elementary (K-3)
SALARY: $14.36/hr minimum, 35 hours/week; full benefits
START DATE: As soon as possible

DESCRIPTION: This classified position works 7 hours per day and splits their day between working with students with disabilities and assisting students with art curriculum. In this position, half of the day is spent leading art classes in multiple grades and half of the day working one-on-one, in small groups, providing academic and social emotional support, and assisting the classroom teacher as needed. In addition, this person will be responsible for observing and documenting student progress and working collaboratively with the art, special education and general education teachers.
● Target job related education: at least 48 semester credits at an institution of higher education; or have an associate’s degree; or pass the District’s basic skills test.
● Experience preferred working with students in grades K-3.
● Willingness to plan lessons through collaboration with the art teacher.
● Ability to use various computer programs and other technology.
● Familiarity and ability to work in multiple art mediums including drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, and paper folding.
