Great pay and benefits, and a team environment!  This position provides professional nursing services to clients at the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) in Lander.  Our nurses are offered schedules with 12-hour shifts.

  • Provide continuous care of clients through assessing, evaluating, and implementing processes to assure appropriate client care and outcomes.
  • Work with other disciplines, such as therapists, dietary, and behavior analysts.
  • Serve as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Accurately prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by the medical providers.
  • Provide meals via G/J tubes and/or assist with meals.
  • Give injections and IVs.
  • Provide pre and post-operative care.
  • Triage calls from staff and handles concerns and emergencies.
  • Communicate with medical providers and follow through on orders as appropriate.
  • Review lab values and consult reports—monitor seizures and weights.
  • Provide formal assessments, documentation, and progress notes.
  • Complete or assist with client ADL's.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, consultations, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Arrange for and conduct nursing clinics and classes. Teach individuals and groups about health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Other duties, as assigned.





  • Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing.
  • Knowledge of Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Nurse Practice Act, and state and facility policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, and reports.
  • Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to client care.
  • Ability to develop a nursing diagnosis, plans of care and assume responsibility for your own actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, positively, and effectively with clients, staff, families, guardians, and the public.
  • Skills in good customer service practices.
  • Skills in time management and computer usage.
  • Must be certified in BLS or have the ability to obtain BLS certification upon employment.

Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming


Necessary Special Requirements



  • Must be able to safely move (twisting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling), position, and lift people with multiple severe disabilities.
  • Ability to monitor sounds, noises, location of clients, etc., to assure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
  • Work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.


  • FLSA: Non-exempt
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions.  Drug testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
