Your potential for impact

  • You will be the first point of contact for the Human Resources team managing the group inbox

  • Administer and process new hire paperwork; this may include but is not limited to I-9s, MVRs, CBC’s, NOLS specific paperwork, handbook agreement,etc.

  • Maintain an equity and inclusion lens as it relates to all HR tasks

  • Assist the Global Talent Strategy Director and HR Manager with full cycle recruiting administrative tasks such as job postings, candidate communication, and document preparation.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and provide a positive experience for all HR functions and aspects

  • Participate in NOLS “Unofficial Joy Committee” and coordinate planning employee events and recognition including annual awards dinner, and festivities

  • Represent the HR team by assisting  in the response to inbound HR-related inquiries and direct inquiries to the appropriate resource for support/resolution 

  • You will contribute to the development, training, and implementation of policies, benefits, and the employee handbook

  • Assist the HR manager with the onboarding and offboarding processes

  • You will provide administrative support for the HR team related to project management

  • Maintain positive working relationships with cross-functional teams as necessary, including Finance, Risk, Program Operations, and Information Systems (IS)

  • Maintain HR data integrity by updating, analyzing, and conducting audits to ensure our system is a source of truth

  • Process employee changes in HR systems

  • You understand the significance of system and data accuracy

  • You thrive in ever changing work environments and have a propensity for adaptation

  • Experience with Microsoft Office & Google Suites, ADP, and Adobe Sign is a plus

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in Customer Service or Human Resources role

  • 1+ years of experience working with client or employee relationship management software 

  • You are comfortable working on a hybrid team

  • Enjoyment of internal or external customer service is a must

Position Details

This position has a strong preference for a candidate to be at the NOLS Headquarters in Lander, WY. If a remote option is offered you must be a legal resident of: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. Starting Salary/Wage: $38,480 ($18.50/hour)

NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) is a nonprofit global wilderness school that supports thousands of students each year all over the world.  Our school began in a small cabin in Sinks Canyon, Wyoming in 1965 as the National Outdoor Leadership School. At that time, we were primarily an outdoors skills school, doing our work in local mountain ranges and exploring what it meant to teach leadership in the backcountry.
