“Treasure Hunt: How to Use a Map and a Compass” August 29 2pm
Join the Riverton Museum staff for this Bailey Tire/Pit Stop Children’s Exploration Series program on August 29th at 2pm.
We’re fortunate to live in a time when GPS navigation is cheap, accurate, and on just about everything. But what do you do when you are out in Wyoming’s beautiful back country, your GPS dies, and you can’t find a currant bush to plug it into? In this Bailey Tire / Pit Stop Children’s Exploration Series, we’ll be learning the basics of navigation with a topographic map and a compass. After learning the basics, we’ll head out on a treasure hunt using the skills we’ve learned!
This events starts at 2:00 PM and runs until about 4:00. Cost is $4/participant.
