SUMMARY:Wyoming Legislature 2024 Joint Agriculture\, State and Public Lands\, & Water Resources
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this meeting is to being the Committee's interim work. The Committee will receive an update from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regarding the Rock Springs Resource Management Plan\, the sale of land to PacifiCorp\, and wild horse management. The State Engineer's Office will be available to discuss temporary change of use for water rights. The University of Wyoming's Seed Certification program will be explained and discussed. The Committee will tentatively tour BLM wild horse holding pens and the Green River Water Treatment plant over the lunch hour and the remainder of the day. The Committee will discuss the right to repair farm equipment and will hear from producers and manufacturers regarding both sides of the issue. Eminent domain will be discussed regarding minimum easement standards and wind energy collector systems. Issues surrounding electronic identification for cattle will be discussed with the Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) and the USDA. The WLSB and state veterinarian will provide an update on the status of brucellosis in Wyoming.\n\n\n\nThe meeting will be held in-person in Rock Springs\, WY and remotely with a live video stream available on the Legislature's Website\, www.wyoleg.gov. A limited number of participants can sign up to provide public comment virtually for a specified agenda item during the Committee's upcoming meeting. The total amount of time dedicated to virtual public comment is set by the Committee Chairmen per Management Council Policy. Please fill out the public comment form to ensure the Committee knows you intend to provide public comment virtually.
