DESCRIPTION:YOU ARE INVITED \n\nto the Opening Program & Reception\n\nof \n\nGROUNDED\n\nRestoring our world through a Sacred Harmony\n\nwith the earth and each other.\n\nA touring exhibition of 15 contemporary artists from Indigenous American tribes traditionally based in and around the Great Plains. \n \n\nGROUNDED will begin its multi-year global tour at the Fremont County Pioneer Museum in Lander\, Wyoming with an opening program and reception on October 2\, 2022 at 4:00 pm.\n\n\n\nAt this moment in time\, our world is calling for restoration\, from within and without\, for a realignment of a sacred harmony and an awareness of a new balance between ourselves and the earth and all of life upon it. \n\n\n\nGROUNDED brings together 15 premier and emerging contemporary artists from Indigenous American tribes traditionally based in and around the Great Plains\, to inspire our imaginations about our need to be "grounded" in our relationship with all of creation: the earth and its wildlife\, each other and ourselves.\n\n\n\nThe creative work of an inspiring group of contemporary Native American artists serves as a visual representation of the worldview\, wisdom and learnings of their ancestors\, which is urgently needed today as we reimagine how we live in order to heal our world. \n\nThe arts exhibition is curated by noted Northern Arapaho artist Robert Martinez and overall curated by Bishop Paul-Gordon Chandler\, founder of CARAVAN.\n\n\n\nThe exhibition will begin its global tour in Wyoming by being showcased in Lander\, Casper\, Cheyenne\, Jackson\, Worland and Rock Springs\, before moving to other key venues in the USA and the United Kingdom\, and ending its tour in the Middle East.\n \n\nGROUNDED is a strategic and timely art exhibition curated by ArtSpirit\, the arts initiative of Episcopal Church in Wyoming\, and CARAVAN\, a global arts non-profit.\n\n\n\nArtists: Ben Pease- Native American Artist Brent Learned\, Uprising Art By Carlin Bear Don't Walk Montileaux Art\, Henry Payer\, Hillary Kempenich\, Jackie Larson Bread Blackfeet Artist\, Northern Plains Studio\, Fine Art by Jackie Sevier Jim YellowHawk\, Joanne Brings Thunder\, John Isaiah Pepion - Piikani Artist\, Louis Still Smoking Art\, Robert Martinez\, Talissa Abeyta\, and Wade Patton\n\n \n\nASSOCIATED PROGRAMMING around the exhibition in Lander\, WY  \n\nwill seek to stimulate discussion\, dialogue and education around the exhibition's theme toward promoting further understanding and widening the engagement with the artwork.
