DESCRIPTION:In this Lunch + Learn Webinar\, we have invited IMPACT 307 Assistant Director Monica Patten to lead a discussion on the importance of innovation across all aspects of business. She will talk about identifying innovation opportunities\, creating innovative business models\, and the importance of 'building a wide moat.' She will also discuss the many free resources available in Wyoming for innovative entrepreneurs\, including the Uinta County Start-Up Challenge which is a seed funding competition that can help you take your ideas past the concept stage. \n\n\n\nWith her extensive career spanning across many industries\, Monica Patten has been on both sides of the aisle\, both being an inventor herself and evaluating innovative technologies in broad industries as a patent surveyor. She holds an MBA from Indiana University Bloomington\, with a focus on Innovation. In this webinar\, Monica will provide an overview of how strengthening your innovation skills can lead to valuable discoveries in your business model.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\n\n\nMonica Patten provides one-on-one business counseling and executive coaching services to founders in Sweetwater & Uinta Counties. In her role as Assistant Director\, she is also working to strengthen and expand the startup resources in SW Wyoming\, including the development of new seed funding opportunities and other programs for entrepreneurs to thrive.  \n\n\n\nMonica is originally from Gillette\, Wyoming\, but now lives in Green River near her family who have lived in Sweetwater County for the past 20 years.  \n\n\n\nBefore joining IMPACT 307\, Monica worked as a chemist across many industries\, with roles spanning from early research to manufacturing. She is the inventor of five patents\, with applications at various stages of the patenting process. She holds a Master's of Science in synthetic organic chemistry in addition to an MBA. Monica is passionate about working with founders and continuing to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in Wyoming.
