“Dutch Oven Bread & Homemade Butter” June 13 2pm
Join the Riverton Museum for this fun Bailey Tire/Pit Stop Children’s Exploration Series program on June 13th at 2pm.
Almost nothing is more ‘human’ than using fire to cook food. Over thousands of years, cooking techniques have evolved to the point that there are entire television networks dedicated to it. In this Bailey Tire / Pit Stop Children’s Exploration Series event, we are putting a modern twist on the cooking techniques of generations past and maybe stretching the limits of what can be cooked in a fire.
First, We’ll take a whack at baking bread in a Dutch Oven. And bread is no good without butter, so we’ll turn cream into fresh-made butter. Later, if we’re feeling lucky, we’ll bake cookies in our dutch oven!
Cost for this event is $5/participant, and advanced registration is required.
