SUMMARY:Wyoming Legislature Joint Minerals\, Business & Economic Development
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this meeting is to continue the Committee's interim work. The Committee will consider bill drafts and receive presentations on (1) carbon capture\, utilization\, and sequestration (CCUS) technology and associated issues with sequestration\, including unitization\, permitting\, interstate pore space\, and fees and revenue\; (2) environmental quality issues\, including industrial siting and non-coal blasting\; (3) the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources\; (4) nuclear industry updates\; (5) oil and gas refinery and capacity issues\; and (6) utility issues and recent Wyoming legislation concerning low-carbon energy standards.\n\n\n\nPlease note that there may be last-minute changes to the agenda depending on committee needs.\n\n\n\nThe meeting will be held in-person in Rock Springs and remotely with a live video stream available on the Legislature's Website www.wyoleg.gov. A limited number of participants can sign up to provide public comment virtually for a specified agenda item during the Committee's upcoming meeting. The total amount of time dedicated to virtual public comment is set by the Committee Chairmen per Management Council Policy. Please fill out the public comment form to ensure the Committee knows you intend to provide public comment virtually.\n\n\n\nOnly those that fill out the form to provide public comments virtually and who are e-mailed the Zoom invite from the Legislative Service Office will be permitted into the Zoom meeting to testify. The deadline for members of the public requesting to provide live testimony will be 5 p.m. of the day immediately preceding the day on which the topic is noticed to be discussed by the committee. At the chairman's discretion\, testimony may be accepted after this deadline if it is in the best interest of the work of the committee.\n\n\n\nIndividuals who plan to provide materials to the Committee during the meeting should provide the materials in electronic format to Committee staff and provide sufficient hard copies for members of the Committee\, Committee staff and interested members of the audience.
