DESCRIPTION:Taught by Nathan Maxon\, Attorney at Law\, this course will give participants a broad overview of the history\, management and laws of Federal Public Lands. Wyoming state lands will also be covered during one session. The course will cover the following: types of federal lands\; management of federal lands\; history of public land law\; jurisdiction and the constitution\; challenging agency decisions\; environmental laws that apply to federal lands\; land exchanges and sales\; recent attempts to force the sale of public lands\; mining and mineral leasing\; timber management\; grazing management\; wildlife management\; recreation management and preservation. Participants will be emailed a reading assignment prior to each session.
