SUMMARY:Public invited to meeting on Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway
DESCRIPTION:PUBLIC INVITED TO HELP DEVELOP PLANS\n\nFOR THE WIND RIVER CANYON SCENIC BYWAY \n\n The Eastern Shoshone & Northern Arapaho Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a public meeting and workshop regarding the Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan (CMP). The Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway is Highway 20\, between Shoshoni and Thermopolis\, through the Wind River Indian Reservation.\n\n \n\nThe CMP is a grassroots-level participation project\, with support from the tribes and the Federal Highways Administration\, in which local desires and issues are documented to serve as a general planning guide for state-designated scenic byways. In addition to addressing issues with the roadway itself\, the CMP will also document community goals and develop plans for enhancing and preserving the scenic\, natural\, historic\, cultural\, archaeological and recreational qualities of the corridor.\n\n \n\nThree public meetings/workshops are scheduled to obtain input from residents\, businesses\, officials and other interested persons:\n\n\n	\n Wednesday\, Feb. 6\, 7 9 p.m. Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center. 700 Broadway in Thermopolis\, one block west (toward Cody) of the stop light.\n	\n Thursday\, Feb. 7\, 1:30 3:30 p.m. Frank Wise Business Center\, at the corner of Ethete Road and U.S. 287 near Fort Washakie.\n	\n Thursday\, Feb. 7\, 6:30 8:30 p.m. - Holiday Inn Convention Center 900 East Sunset Drive in Riverton.\n\n \n\nEach meeting will provide the same information and follow the same format\, and light refreshments will be served. The public will be asked to share their wishes and concerns about the corridor\, as the CMP should address and document the needs\, desires and vision of the people who live\, work and play along the route not just the jurisdictional agencies.\n\n \n\n \n\nFor further information: Susan Springer\, Public Involvement Manager\, 512.847.7744\; susan@intrinsicinfo.com or Howard Brown\, Shoshone & Arapaho Tribes Division of Transportation\, 307.335.7669.
