DESCRIPTION:On March 16\, the Fremont Symphony Orchestra will be featuring local\, professional clarinetist\,\n\nDan Foster as guest soloist. The orchestra will be performing at the Lander Valley High School\n\nauditorium at 7 pm.\n\nFoster has won multiple concerto competitions and performed throughout the United States\,\n\nEurope\, Australia\, and New Zealand. He has performed in Carnegie Hall in New York City and\n\nthe Sydney Opera House. Dan has performed concertos with multiple orchestras and is currently\n\nthe music teacher at Wind River schools.\n\nAccording to Rebecca Murdock\, the conductor\, the concert is going to be like "a box of\n\nchocolates." She added\, "You can't just have one piece." She said the concert will feature a\n\nvariety of music from the stage\, dance hall\, and movie set.\n\nThe Disney studio's version of the movie "Aladdin" will be performed along with Gustav\n\nHolst's "Mars" from his suite\, "The Planets." Murdock noted that the symphony will perform the\n\npiece along with a special NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory video of special Mars footage.\n\nThe FSO has been conducted by Rebecca Murdock\, a well-known Fremont County resident who\n\nreceived her degree in music education\, emphasis in strings. She began conducting the orchestra\n\nsoon after arriving in Lander in the late 1970s. The orchestra has grown and developed into a\n\nwell-respected performance ensemble featuring internationally acclaimed soloists who perform\n\nregularly with the 50-piece ensemble.\n\nTickets may be purchased at the door for $10 for adults and $20 for families.
