DESCRIPTION:Fremont Symphony Orchestra\n\nDirected by Rebecca Murdock\n\nPresents\n\n"The Beth Shipley Memorial Concert"\n\nFeaturing Pianist Richard Dowling performing the Schumann Piano Concerto in A minor\n\nIncluding the Armed Forces Salute recognizing our Vets on Veterans Day\, and works by Tschaikowsky\, Verde\, and Delibes.\n\nBeth Shipley was a founding member and cellist with FSO for 30+ years. She passed away this Spring. The FSO members wanted to perform this concert in her memory.\n\nRichard Dowling\n\n Hailed by The New York Times as an especially \n\nimpressive fine pianist\, RICHARD DOWLING \n\nappears regularly across the United States in solo \n\nrecitals\, at chamber music and jazz/ragtime \n\nfestivals\, and as a guest soloist in concerto \n\nperformances with orchestras. He has been \n\nacclaimed by audiences for his elegant and exciting \n\nstyle of playing which earns him frequent return \n\nengagements. Career highlights include a sold-out \n\nNew York orchestral debut at Lincoln Center's Alice \n\nTully Hall\, solo recitals at Carnegie's Weill Recital \n\nHall in New York\, and a special award from the \n\nNational Federation of Music Clubs recognizing his \n\noutstanding performances of American music. Mr. \n\nDowling has presented solo recitals in the Far East\, \n\nSouth America\, Australia\, Africa\, and Europe. \n\nWorks of Chopin\, Ravel\, Gershwin\, Gottschalk and  \n\nragtime figure prominently in his repertoire.
